Envision Biltmore Way
The City of Coral Gables along with town planning and urban design consultants Dover, Kohl & Partners are leading an effort to reimagine Biltmore Way! The scope of this project includes all of Biltmore Way from Anderson Road to Le Jeune Road, as well as Andalusia Avenue from Hernando Street to Ponce de Leon Boulevard. The city and its consultants will develop several new design concepts for the corridor that help address the community’s top priorities, which includes making the corridor a more comfortable place for people to walk, shop, or ride their bicycles without compromising the movement of cars or the ability to park along the street.
Reconfiguring the roadway to increase the amount of space available for shade trees, landscaping, and high-visibility crosswalks will be an important part of enhancing Biltmore Way. The city will also be looking at ways to improve connectivity for pedestrians and bicyclists to the proposed future mobility hub on Andalusia Avenue. Community members will be invited to weigh in on these conceptual design alternatives during several workshops and public meetings. This feedback will help the city to assess the feasibility and impacts of the community’s preferred alternatives, including estimating costs and studying possible funding sources, which will be the primary focus for future phases of work.
